She is super friendly with everybody, older people, little kids, other dogs, she just thinks everybody is her friend! My boyfriend and I love her so much!! She is the greatest dog! She is energetic and loves to go on hikes, camping and play, she also naps a lot.  She doesn’t like the water, she prefers to lay in the sun.

She is super happy in her new home with her new best friend Bagheera, the cat.  She loves to be outdoors, her favorite things to do are going camping, hiking and telling the cat about all of her adventures and friends she meets outside! We are so happy with her!

]]><![CDATA[Fletch]]>Fri, 26 Aug 2016 20:50:43 GMThttps://www.sunshinecanyondogrescue.org/pupdates/august-26th-2016​"Fletch has turned out to be perhaps our best dog ever. He has brought so much joy to this household. His gentle nature and goofy personality light up the entire home.
He is now 11 months or so we are guessing and he is healthy and strong. He gets walked twice a day, which he loves. His back end has gotten so much stronger and he is free of skin issues completely. He is on a gluten free fish based diet and his coat is like SILK!
He is definitely our youngest son’s dog (Chase). Fletch’s typical day includes: walk in the am, ride to school to drop off Chase, watch the house for a few hours during the day, get an afternoon walk, go get Chase, and then come home and play outside with Chase….seriously….not a rough life. He rides like a dream in the car. My favorite pic is of him sitting in the back seat looking out the window watching for Chase to come out of school.
He gets along amazing with our two cats and they play everyday. The outdoor cat and he can often be seen through our front window playing hide and seek in the bushes out front. It is HILARIOUS!
We love him so much and could not be more thankful for you giving us the chance to parent this little joy. We leave for Xmas to Wisconsin for a couple weeks soon here, and of course - Fletch is coming with us. He got to see the snow a few weeks ago finally and the husky in him let loose - he LOVES it!"

SCDR decided that even though there was not much hope we were going to bring him here and do everything possible to fix him. Alone, in pain, and scared is no way to leave this earth.
Here is Reynolds about 4 months later with his new family. He had some screws put into his leg and had some bone removed, and is now all better and the happiest little guy! He even has a live in girlfriend. What a life!

Melanie was one of the 9 that we saved back in January from the hoarding situation. Here is what she looked like when her "owner" brought her to the shelter to be euthanized, and here is what she looks like today, 6 months later, with her forever family.
Her forever family says she is the perfect dog. She takes turns sleeping with the kids and just loves them to pieces. She went from living a neglectful, terrifying, and sick life, to a life luxury and love.

We have been hit hard with parvo puppies lately, but we are so happy that Zach was one of the lucky ones to make it though. Here is what his new forever family wrote to us the other night:
"Our pup is doing great. We re-named him Cooper, and he is just absolutely loving life! We feel so lucky to have found him!"
